Thinking of desserts, we rarely come up with an image of rivers. But to our surprise, there are rivers and small pools in the deserts that create wonderful sceneries.
It might be interesting to know that there is a river in Lut Dessert which takes its name from its salty taste.
“Shour” in Persian means salty and “roud” means river so “Roudshour” literally means salty river.
“Roudshour” which is fresh at its spring point runs a long distance to arrive at Lout Desert and when it gets there, the river reaches its highest degree of salinity
